Petition: Reinstate Mandatory Minimum Sentences

The community of Vaughan was recently shaken by the loss of Aleem Farooqi – a father, husband, and respected community member. He was killed while defending his wife and children from an armed home invader on August 31st, 2025.

His loss was an immense tragedy for his family and community – and with too many families being victimized in their own homes, it’s time to say, enough is enough.

We are calling on the federal government to immediately reinstate mandatory minimum sentences for violent crimes like these, which will result in definite jail time and consequences.
